On Our Way Home!

Time to fly!

We will keep Bethany in our hearts and start planning for next summer.

Now it will be good to get home and sleep in our own beds. Everyone is packed and ready to go.

Rich takes Sue and Jack to the airport. They leave for Dulles at 5:30a.
Dosie and Dani meet Alex's friends and wave goodbye. Then we leave for the airport.

Have a great flight! See you soon!

Sunday sightseeing in DC

On Sunday, we chill and visit the Smithsonian museums.
We learned that Richard Burton did not give Elizabeth Taylor the Hope Diamond. Hi, JC! We were glad to have the chance to talk to you! Love you!
Jud grills steak and we enjoy a simple dinner and more cookies. Jud and Jack watch the first three episodes of "Game of Thrones". Jack has 5 books to read to catch up with us. We will have someone else to discuss the adventures of Westeros with next summer.

Goodbye Bethany, Hello Chevy Chase

Goodbye Bethany! It was another exciting, jammed packed vacation.

An early morning walk to store up beach energy for another year. Leigh needs to live here.

The beach entrance at 5th Street.

Thank you, Bethany! Leigh has refueled and is ready for another year!

The cars are packed and we are ready to go.

It's a packing record. We leave at 9a!

We stop at Holly's for lunch. The nicest waitress ever! We leave a very big tip.
Back in Chevy Chase. Alex is happy!

Leigh relieves hoarding instincts and passes on clothes. Thanks Dani! You look glamorous!

Chinese food for dinner. Wendy brings Rocco home and joins us.

Jack makes us cookies.

Kabuki gets petted by everyone.

Friday. Our last Beach Day and "Three Guys" Dinner

We spend the entire afternoon at the beach.

Then Rich, John, and Bob make dinner.

Dosie receives intense instruction from John on the proper slicing of tomatoes and onions for burgers.

Hamburgers and chicken burgers on the grill. We all agree that it's the best burgers ever. Bob, Rich and John discuss opening a restaurant and calling it "Three Guys". In addition to burgers, "Three Guys" will make John's famous caesar salad.

Alex asks Roz to rub her back.

Thursday and a Lot is Happening!

The ocean is rough today and the lifeguard has to pull Natalie out of the water.

Natalie's facebook entry, "My day sucked! i drowned and i couldnt ever get into H2O....wow kill me now."
Sandy tells Natalie, "So you got pulled out of the water by a hunk at the beach this year."

Alex introduces Dave to the fine art of snuggling.

Erin, Carolyn, Sara, Mallory, Robin and Vicki. Ready to eat dinner.

Thank you for the flounder, John.
O'Connors rule!!! Filet Mignon and Fresh Flounder, caught by John on his diving trip. Jud says it is the best dinner he has ever eaten!

Dani made brownies and then Jud added the peanut butter. Good idea!

Why does Sue always end up washing the dishes? And why is she smiling?
Shelby and Natalie crash. It's vacation!

Wednesday. New Tent. Welcome Roz and John!

7a and we are claiming our spot on the beach. It's ok to wear pajamas when you are walking in Bethany.

The tent as metaphor continues. We have learned from our past mistakes. WD40 on all tent joints and the tent opens perfectly.

Good tent choice, Rich. It is small and modest, but perfect. Our OCD urges are satisfied.

Plenty of shade. Our tent is the only one with a back, so we are easy to find on the beach.
We are all together. Don's feet are getting sunburned.

The glamourous Sutherland Sisters. Sue and Dosie!

Alex is happy!

Dani is staying in touch.

Don is learning the fine art of vegging. Sunscreen next year!

Sue and Jack buy Alex a bubble blower and Alex is in control.

Shrimp scampi and Sara gets to relax.

Lori and Ian

Carolyn, Robin and Jud. There is no such thing as too much shrimp!

John is on his way! Cleaning his diving equipment. Roz has put his dinner aside. Welcome John!
